THE WINE

It represents the latest addition to Maso Bergamini's portfolio; in the autumn of 2010, the estate took the bold step of allowing some of its Riesling Renano vines to overripen. As fortune would have it, the end of the season brought rewards, and by mid-November, with the onset of the first frosts, the remaining clusters could be harvested, fully affected by noble rot.

Subsequently, the estate vinified this late harvest of Riesling Renano grapes, resulting in a wine characterized by remarkable sweetness, aromatic intensity, and gustatory complexity, all attributed to the transformative effect of noble rot within the grape berries.

Following the tradition of classic botrytized wines, it can be savored as a contemplative wine or, for a more intriguing experience, paired with blue cheeses accompanied by mountain honey.

Adorning the label are depictions of "cesene" birds grazing on grapes from November; the arrival of these migratory birds (turdus pilares) in the vineyards coincides with the first frosts, marking the optimal moment for harvesting the late harvest grapes.
